It's that time of the year again. The summer is drawing to a close, the studs are turned out, and sale time is in full swing!  We have worked very hard this year on paying attention to detail when it comes to these 2015 babies. We seem to have many favorites this year based solely on personality and it?s going to be hard to let them go; however we know you all will enjoy them just as much as we have!  Confirmation, color, a good mind, and athleticism was our main focus this year and to be able to get back to basics just as Wade intended has been very rewarding! We cut back on mares last year which has given us the chance to accomplish these goals and to provide only the top Quarter Horses around.  And boy are we excited for what's to come!

Don't miss out on your next opportunity to own some great horses with some of the most respectable pedigrees! Please join us at our annual production sale on September 12, 2015. Preview will begin at 10am with the sale following at 11am. This year's catalog is posted and ready to view on this site. And for other updates on what's new and happing at the ranch please follow us on Facebook by liking our page (Zollinger Quarter Horse Ranch).  We can't wait to see you at the sale!

Almost 50 years ago Wade bought his first Quarter Horse mare.  She came from Hamilton, MT in the back of a chicken hauling bus.  Later he bought a beautiful bay son of Prince Bar by three Bars TB.  He ran them on the chariot and also rode them.  Later, more horses came along including a little bay mare named Bay Ida Mae by Cowboy II by Joe Moore out of Baldys Ida by Baldy Joe by Joe Hancock.  she was little, 15 hands, and could really run.  She went on to produce a track record holder by Lad Leo and seven other AAA/AA colts including one by the great Azure Te.

In 1971 Wade bought Lad Leo, the last own son of the great Leo.  Lad, became the cornerstone of the Zollinger breeding program.  Like his father, Lad Leo stamped his offspring with correct conformation, good bone, large feet, excellent muscling, intelligence, and, of course, a willing disposition.  Lad put Wade in business, and his son JX Leo Sun Up and the Lad Leo daughters and granddaughters keep him in business.

After many years working in the Quarter Horse Industry, Wade has accomplished some of the highest honors there are in the Horse World.  The ranch has been featured in the Quarter Horse Journal, The American Quarter Horse, and several other books and magazines across the world.  The Western Horseman in Germany did a five page article about the ranch and its accomplishments.  In 2010, Western Horseman named Zollinger Ranch as one of the Premier Breeders of Performance Horses in the nation.  We are proud of our program and what we've accomplished in the quarter horse industry.

Our goal is and has always been to breed and raise quality horses with good minds, great dispositions, correct conformation, and athletic ability.  We raise horses you can do anything on.

This year Zollinger Quarter Horse Ranch will hold our Annual Production Sale on September 13, 2014here at the ranch in Oakley, Idaho.  We will offer an outstanding selection of bloodlines, conformation, color, and quality.  Our Lad Leo broodmares are the foundation of our breeding program; crossing them to some of the best bloodlines in the country.  Our stallions include Double L Boon by Peptoboonsmal, JX Leo Sun Up by Lad Leo, WZ Poco Hollywood, a grandson of Poco Bueno and Bailey Joe, Money's Illusion by Dash for Cash, Mr Silver Pistol by Playgun, Dynamo Dunit by Hollywood Dunit, Shiners War Leo by Shining Spark and Pecos Little Peppy by Peppy San Badger.
